Vita for Elson S. Floyd


On December 13, 2006, the Board of Regents appointed Elson S. Floyd as the 10th president of Washington State University.

He currently serves as president of the four-campus University of Missouri and previously was president of Western Michigan University. Before that he held administrative positions at the University of North Carolina and Eastern Washington University and was director of Washington's Higher Education Coordinating Board.

He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and speech, a master of education degree in adult education, and a Ph. D. degree in higher and adult education, all from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
